Darcy Cross (Behavioural Consultant, Interventionist and Special Education Teacher)

“My goal is to decrease anxiety and increase social competence”

I have over 20 years of experience as a Support Worker, Behavioural Interventionist, Team Leader, Special Education Teacher, and Behavioural Consultant working directly with children of all ages diagnosed with ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) and/or other related disabilities. Some of these settings include: child care centers, ASD programs, public and private schools, child development centers, and home-based individual and small group therapy. I practice combined treatments depending on individual needs in ABA, RDI, Social Thinking, SCERTS, and PEERS.

My education includes a diploma in Early Childhood Education, an undergrad degree in Child and Youth Care and a master’s degree in Education in Special Education. For my final project for my masters I developed and implemented a practical evidence-based social skills program that I call a Friendship Club.

Grasp’s focus is to deliver evidence-based functional treatments for children and youth with ASD in an individual and/or group setting and to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.
